Safari Available for Windows

If you’re like me, and have had to develop websites for an Apple-oriented client, and you use a mix of WinXP and Linux, you are probably stoked by the fact that Apple has released a version of Safari for Windows users.

I remember one project I did where the turnaround time in communicating by e-mail, phone, and IM about differences between Firefox and Safari’s rendering took a considerable amount of time, and I’ve always wanted my designs accessible to Mac users, so I’m pretty happy about this.

Humorous Response to Macrovision

Another salvo in the war of words begun when Apple’s Steve Jobs released his “Thoughts on Music”.

This salvo, though, is a humorous rewrite of Macrovision’s response, which was inextricably biased against any open exchange of views on the DRM front.

Cisco sues Apple over iPhone name

There’s a Silicon Valley catfight brewing over the rights to the iPhone name.

On one side, Cisco Systems, whose Linksys division released a net-enabled phone dubbed iPhone just three weeks ago.

On the other, Steve Jobs and Apple, who seem to be acting quite deliberately, given that they had tried to secure legitimate and exclusive rights to the name.

The facts, as presented in this article, point powerfully toward an actionable case for Cisco.

My money’s on Jobs. He knew precisely what he was doing, and he must have some kind of plan in motion.

More than that, the man’s stared down more lawsuits than Johnny Cochran. I don’t think he’s real worried about this.
