Thanks! I had to do this in addition to the enabling the RPMFusion repos:

yum remove faad2 faac

Which removed the following:
Erasing : faac
Erasing : libquicktime
Erasing : cinelerra
Erasing : ffmpeg-libpostproc
Erasing : mjpegtools
Erasing : ffmpeg
Erasing : faad2

sudo su apt-get install libcucul-dev

Or, simply install mplayer via synaptic. If libcucul-dev doesn’t come with it, snag it via synaptic also.

hi buddy this is not helped me.. i am using rhel 5.1 version of linux. its showing dependencies of Missing Dependency: libcucul.so.0 is needed by package vlc
Missing Dependency: libdvdread.so.3 is needed by package vlc

No dice for me after getting both RPMFusion repos (free & non-free). Getting the libcucul.so.0 dep issue here. Maybe it’s broken again…
